PHILANTHROPIC PROJECTS

Our decade-long commitment has seen us partner with numerous organisations and community-driven projects, projects, through the Fujian Association, fostering positive change and lasting impact.
Healthcare
Ziping Cheng and Yangsen Li, of the Fujian Association, donated over $8 million in food and healthcare supplies, including sanitisers and masks, to help the country combat the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. Students also contributed their lunch money in an effort to give to the community.
Education
Yangsen Li of the Fujian Association presented $200,000 to the Barracks Road Primary School to aid the retrofit of a container creating a library and resource centre to host the school’s literacy and numeracy programme. It will be available to the wider community to further development.
Healthcare
The Fujian Association donated $5 million worth of sanitation items to contribute to Jamaica’s fight against COVID-19. Upon delivery, Yangsen Li of the Association, stated that “this is our home, too, especially in this time of crisis. We have to come together to support our Jamaican people".
Community
The Fujian Association donated four water tanks, providing 40,000 gallons of water. Yangsen Li of the Fujian Association stated “we know that a lot of people have been suffering for a long time, and we hope these tanks will bring relief”.

The Fujian Association made a donation of 30 handheld thermal scanners to the Ministry of Health & Wellness as part of their effort to aid the Jamaican community in their fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

Members of the Fujian Association donated $2.55 million to the annual breast cancer event of Montego Bay's Kiwi Club - the single largest donation the event has received. Nadine Spence, chairman of the event said "We are ecstatic that the Chinese community could come out and support in such a way".

The Fujian Association donated $500,000 worth of supplies to aid prisoners at the Freeport Police Station during the pandemic. Upon presenting the donation, Yangsen Li, of The Fujian Association, stated that they "care and love this island, and the people that we live with".

The Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean have signed a memorandum of understanding to undertake a comprehensive study on the impact of crime in the city of Montego Bay, St James.
Community
Two communities in the St Ann South Eastern area have benefitted from improved water supply, following the donation of two 10,500 gallon water tanks by the Jamaican Chinese community. Yangsen Li, of the Fujian Association said “We hope these two water tanks can help these people".
